Who's been in the watermelon patch?

Brian found this evidence next to the new watermelon.

I'm just taking a wild guess on who's paw print this could be... not naming names but...

Newest Member of the Seehafer Bunch...

Meet "JD" everyone!! This is Brian's girl. He picked her out that the Wilson County Fair on Wednesday night. Brian said that she reminded him of "Joe Dirt"! What a funny movie!! You have to see it if you haven't yet!

JD is a Sultan Chicken and one of the sweetest chickens ever, along with the girls, of course! We are working on introducing everyone together so they can live happily ever after!

Don't you just love her feathers on her head!! I think she needs a "hair" clip for them.

Flea Market Part Two!

Salt and Pepper shakers galore! More great colors!

The booths were filled!

This is my next car!

Here are some not so much antiques but collectables!

A sign for Brian... I'm getting this for him next time. That's what he says "punkins" (pumpkins!)

Rachel and I had a great morning and bought some good stuff! I think were going again next month!

Flea Market!

Bright and early Sunday morning, Rachel (my friend and neighbor - her blog site: http://youmewiththree.blogspot.com ) and I headed out to the flea market at the fairgrounds. It was the "girls" morning out, no husbands or kids! We did some shopping!!

At the flea market we found great things! Wonderful colors of Fiesta Ware...

THE COOLEST RING EVER... and this lady wearing it was the cutest, sweetest woman. Rachel and I talked to her for a little while.

Found my next uniform for my job!

We also found great artwork everywhere! I loved this piece, so did Rachel.

Yard Sale!

We had our neighborhood yard sale on Saturday and what a beautiful day it turned out to be! The weather was just perfect shop out side! We had tons of things to sell. The neighborhood had lots of houses participating.

Granny Nancy came by to help out and that woman could sell fleas to a dog! She is incredible!! I love her!! Here's Granny Nancy and Tanner (Brian's nephew) posing with the pumpkin.

Klein or was that Kline?

One of my favorite paintings I've found is this cow. She called out to me the moment I layed my eyes on her. Brian even likes it! The artist is Kline. I haven't been able to find any information on Kline but I love this cow!

So when I went to Estelle's I found another painting with another artist name Klein on it. The truth is that I didn't remember how the cow "Kline" artist spelled the last name. When I saw this painting and saw "Klein" I thought maybe it's the same artist. Yes, I know I'm a dork, wrong spelling but I still love both paintings! The new Klein is very old and has chickens in it!

I just love paintings that call out to you!

Bubba, you know you're handsome right?

"Who me? Little ole' me?"

"Don't hate me cause I'm cute."

How much is that kitty in the window?

Estelle's Antiques and Consignment Furniture Store is on my way to work every morning. In the front window I always see...

sweet kitties! This one made himself quite comfortable on the chair that is for sale.

The lady in the store, not Estelle, told me a story of selling a piece of furniture to a gentleman. He picked up the piece and headed home. Not an hour later she gets a call from the same gentleman asking if they're missing one of the cats. The cat fell asleep in the furniture and got locked in. Needless to say, now they check all the furniture they sell before it leaves. Good idea!

Beautiful Life

“The longer I live the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.”

Monell's in Germantown

Went to dinner with two very special friends last night, Robyn (who's like my sister) and Rick (it was his birthday!) We all headed over to Monell's in Germantown!

Let me tell you, the food is FANTASTIC!

It's like your at Grandma's house!

You sit around the table with other people, pass around the plates and bowls of home cooked food!

Last night it was Smothered Chicken, BBQ Pork, Fried Chicken, Squash Casserole, Cole Slaw, Broccoli Salad, Corn Bread, Mashed potatoes, Crowder Peas, Green Beans... and much, much more!! For dessert, BANANA PUDDING AND STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE! This was my plate AND YES, I ATE THE WHOLE THING!!!

Watermelon anyone?

Look what's growing out of the compost pile next to the pumpkin patch... a watermelon plant! Must have been from the watermelon scrapes from our neighbors across the street (they save their scrapes for the compost pile for us.) We know it's late in the season but Brian is letting it grow to see what happens. We'll all see!

We've also have random tomato plants everywhere!!

That's got to be some GOOD COMPOST!!

The Pumpkin Chronicles

Brian took some pictures of the pumpkin yesterday afternoon. All the green leaves behind the pumpkin are brand new. The powdery mildew took out all of the older leaves. What's left of the original leaves are in front of the pumpkin in this picture. You can tell a difference.

He's got rods on the sides to see if she is growing and she's still growing but slowly.

I believe she is getting more orange in color too!

Brian thinks she might weight about 300 pounds right now... maybe, it's hard to tell, the shape is always changing.
