Rainy November Day

Thanksgiving was wonderful with the family... I'll get those pictures up tomorrow. Cousin Hera took the pictures this year and wants to tell the "Seehafer's Thanksgiving Story." You remember Cousin Hera from her report on August 10. She did a great job!

Oh, got other news concerning JD (the Sultan Chicken) but Brian took the camera today and those pictures are on that batch. I'll post pictures and news this week so stay tuned!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

Renaissance Jack Art Showing

A client and friend has his photography showing at the Tennessee State Museum. The gathering was Thursday night last week.

Hippie Jack, his wonderfully beautiful wife, Lynne, his family and friends celebrated his art, music and photos.

The place was packed the hippies, musicians, art connoisseurs and all realms of people.

Jack and Lynne's photos are just amazing.

I encourage you to please visit the website at:

A Question To Think About

Here's the question for everyone...

If curiosity

killed the cat,

what does it do to a chicken?

Seehafer Foster Farm

This little man came to us via my best friends, Bob and Julie last night. Julie is a BIG animal lover and saves anyone that comes in her path... I agree with Julie! We are fostering "Furball" (that is what Brian's calling him right now) for a few days.

Julie has a friend that might be taking him in but if that doesn't work out, please feel free to email us if you are interested in adopting Furball! You'll have to get Julie's approval! He's a cute puppy!!

The Simple Things In Life

Brian fixed Josie's FAVORITE scratching post... better the post than the couch!

He put new rope on it and made sure that this would last longer.

Ahhhh, wait, "cat toe jam"... gross!

Back to the scratching post,

Josie is just so happy now.

Thank you Brian!! We love you!

Back then...

When I lived on Shelton Avenue, Michele (my dearest friend that now lives in Portland Oregon) emailed me this picture of William Jake. In the email it said, "if you're looking for William, he's at my house wanting to come in." Michele lived right across the street from me.

William would visit the neighbors daily and now that we live with Brian, he has carried on that tradition. I'd love to get a small camera on William Jake and see what his day is like... come to think about it, maybe that's not a good idea. I might not want to know what that boy does.

A Big Scaredy Cat

Saturday night our backyard neighbor was setting off fireworks and this big scaredy cat was not going to stick around.

Tootie jumped the fence, ran to the side door and begged to be let in.

Look where this spoiled one went to, her favorite spot.

Friday

At work, we have one single rose bush in the back parking lot. This little rose seems to not believe winter is coming.

Everyone have a wonderful and safe weekend! We love you Uncle Frank & Aunt Linda and Rod & Patti AND with out saying... Granny Nancy!!

Big Sister and Baby Sister

Found two more photo discs. Here's big sister Katie with baby sister Josie. Josie would follow Katie around everywhere when she was little.

This picture makes me smile.

Daily Eggs

The girls are producing three to four eggs a day. With winter coming upon us, I'm having a difficult time with the "Daily Egg" photos. By the time I get home, it's too dark outside to take pictures. I'll have to figure out something creative for the egg photos.

A Ladies Man

Move over James Bond... Bubba McCloud is in town.

Old Hickory Art Center "Art Sale" - More Art

Old Hickory Art Center "Art Sale" - Part 2

There was art from floor to ceiling...

All kinds of art was there... porcelain painting...

wood carvings...

The "Art Sale" ran from 9am to 3pm on Saturday. Brian and I got there right at 9am and lots of people started showing up early too.

I loved lots of paintings but one of my favorite ones was this rooster. It was already sold.

I took tons of photos so I'll post more up today and this week. We had a great morning there... or at least I did.

I was inspired!

Old Hickory Art Center "Art Sale" - Part 1

The Art Center in Old Hickory had their annual "Art Sale" this Saturday. I dragged Brian with me... well, he went willingly, kinda.

I saw this place the first time on a show called "Tennessee Crossroads"... one of my favorite shows on NPT.

Here's beautiful stone carvings bird baths...

It's owned and run by Tom Taylor, an artist himself. This is some of Tom's paintings. Brian liked these. Great light and shade... Brian said they look like real photos.

This building was an old school house... love these old chairs.

Josie's First Bath

Still in the "Back Then" mode... when Josie was little,

she had a fascination with bathtubs and water.

After five minutes in the tub, she was done. Josie would hop out and big sister Katie always dried her off.

Yes, they were and are kooky cats.

The Kittens

I was going through some old papers and found a disc labeled "Kittens". These photos are of Gabby, Bedhead and Josie when they were little in 2003... I wrote about "Meet Josie" on June 1, 2009 and told the story of the three little kittens.

They were the sweetest little babies.

Gabby is the first kitten in the picture with milk mouth, Josie is in the midde and Bedhead is wake at the end. I love their full furry bellies.

Josie is with me in Nashville, Bedhead and Gabby are with Chris and Michele in Portland Oregon... but we are all still family.

Love and miss you guys very much!!

P.S. The kittens did grow into their ears.

"This is the treacherous month when autumn days
With summer's voice come bearing summer's gifts.
Beguiled, the pale down-trodden aster lifts
Her head and blooms again. The soft, warm haze
Makes moist once more the sere and dusty ways,
And, creeping through where dead leaves lie in drifts,
The violet returns. Snow noiseless sifts
Ere night, an icy shroud, which morning's rays
Wildly shine upon and slowly melt,
Too late to bid the violet live again.
The treachery, at last, too late, is plain;
Bare are the places where the sweet flowers dwelt.
What joy sufficient hath November felt?
What profit from the violet's day of pain?"
- Helen Hunt Jackson, Autumn Sonnet
