Nighttime Rituals with the dogs

This is what happens every night here at the Seehafer Farm when we put Bubba, Tootie and William Jake "down for bed" in the garage. We start off with Bubba and Tootie fighting over the big comfy chair.

Then Tootie will jump off and the hugging commences! William Jake loves to get right in the middle off it...

or more off to the side.

Here's Brian and Bubba. I love this picture... forgot the flash on the camera.

And this, is how we finish. Good dogs!

Flea Market Part Two!

Part Two of "Flea Market Adventure with Brian!" With no disrespect (I actually love the Breast Cancer T-Shirt), I just started laughing to myself because when I saw this one, I just wanted to hug Brian! Get it?!?!?! Never mind.

Speaking of boob... I mean Brian... he found this 8mm film projector. It needed some work.

I saw this and my WONDERFUL HUSBAND BRIAN said to take a picture of it and he'll make it for me. Isn't he THE BEST!! I've got lots of kissing up to do with the comments above!

Thought this would be a great kitchen island.

Church pews are just beautiful.

On other news, Bubba is doing fine. He's sleeping of the anaesthesia today and Tootie has been given direct orders to watch over him. She is taking her job seriously and has not left his side. We love those dogs!

Flea Market Weekend - Part One!

We headed out to the flea market on Sunday! Brian came with me this time.

We saw some incredible things... of course, LOTS OF COLOR!

Great architectural salvage pieces that would look great framed and up on the wall...

and a stuffed squirrel... can't live without one of those!

I saw these two and thought they were GREAT!! Love the shoes too!

I'll post "Part Two" tomorrow. I've got to run, picking up Bubba McCloud from the vet. He's doing great, just getting his teeth cleaned. He didn't want his picture taken till he comes back with beautiful white sparkling teeth! Bubba said that he'll smile BIG for the camera... what a ham!!

New Farm Help

So, the girls have taken upon themselves to "clean out" the vegetable beds... hmmm.

They said "It's Fall clean up mom!"

"Hmmm..." I said.

"Really!" they said.

Just then, Tootie also decides she can help and starts to "clean out" the pond... "Hmmm..." I said again, "where's your father?"

First Day of Fall

Today is the first day of Fall! Our favorite time of the year. I believe we can smell it in the air on somedays and you can feel it in the sun. It's also time for shopping for Mums!

I love Mums! Brian says I'm crazy about Mums!

This is my favorite color. It's just the color for Fall.

Got some for the garden with a splash of yellow.

We also got the Fall decorations out. I've got the wreath on the door already!!

Happy "First Day of Fall" everyone!!

Brian and pumpkins in the patch!

These photos were taken before I headed off to Washington D.C. It's been raining for a week now!

Brian was in the patch tending to the pumpkins.

Not only is Brian growing the "BIG" pumpkin...

he is growing some for me for the Fall and Halloween decorations.

We'll have plenty of pumpkins to put around the house.

Wait till you see how we decorate the front yard!

National Museum of Natural History in DC

Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History is TOTALLY AMAZING!! Stasia and I only saw a very small part of it. You need a whole day to see just this building!

More of Washington DC

The Corcoran Gallery of Art. It's near The White House.

Billy Crystal in Washington D.C.!

We crossed the street, I looked over and saw the Capitol!

Washington DC

After working the seminar for Stasia, we had some time before the flight back to Nashville. Us girls headed to DC!! We took the Metro into DC and walked to the Washington Monument...

The Lincoln Memorial...

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial... the wall was just incredible and very emotional.

The U.S. Department of Treasury

and the FBI Building... not so secretive location.

Stasia and I walked around everywhere! I've got more pictures I'll post tomorrow.

Off to Washington DC!

I'm headed off to Washington DC to work a seminar. Brian is in charge of all the "kids" here at the Seehafer Farm. I'll be back to the blog on Thursday. Everyone have a great weekend!!

Adventures of JD

Well, we've worked JD into the roost with the girls. The girls are still picking on her but JD now knows that she is much faster than the others. She's in the door way in this picture.

Brian made her a little house of her own so she can get away from them in the roost. I'll get a picture of that soon. JD is under the chair in this picture.

JD follows the girls on the walks around the yard, always a "running start" length from them. JD doesn't mind Tootie and Tootie doesn't mind JD.

JD will be just fine in this family.
