Presto... It's a Door!

Once upon a time, there was a little ranch home that had a window in the dinning room. One day the little window wanted to become a big door.

So the nice home owner made it's wish come true...

removed a few bricks here and there...

made a big enough hole...

and presto... the little window became a big door.

THE END.

Actually that was two weekends ago and this past weekend we started the back deck. Brian and I were working so hard on getting supplies, wood, measuring and leveling, I forgot to take pictures! We'll be back hard at work on the back deck this weekend. I'll try to remember to take picture then. We're looking forward to having Sunday morning coffee out there!! I'm excited!

A True Quote

Geoffrey Household quotes...

“I have noticed that what cats most appreciate in a human being is not the ability to produce food,

which they take for granted -

but his or her entertainment value.”

Ain't that the truth!

Just Amazing

Brian hollered out to me last night to "..come here and bring the camera!" There was another rainbow, in the evening! It was just beautiful.

I couldn't fit the whole rainbow in, so it's in halves.

Brian and I have a project that we're doing. I'll take lots of pictures this weekend and post on Monday!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Strawberries!

Brian and I picked our first batch of strawberries this weekend! We waited to let the girls out of the roost that day because they head straight to the berry patch. Let me tell you, they were watching us.

Brian weighed those strawberries and we picked about two pounds. I washed, prepared and froze those for later. I think we're going to try our hand at strawberry wine this year!

SCRATCH AND SNIFF!

Container Gardening

This is Brian "thinking outside the box" on this one... that is the container! We had two wheel barrel's but I didn't just want to throw one away so, Brian came up with an idea. "Let's make a plant container!" WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!

He started by drilling many holes for water drainage... and presto... a herb container! How easy was that?!?!

We filled it with Thai Basil, Dwarf Curry...

Lemon Thyme and Orange Thyme...

Arugula and French Sorrel (both great in salad for a twist of taste)...

And "Hot & Spicy" Oregano! Talk about kick, you've got to try it!

So, start thinking "outside the box" for container ideas! We will! It's fun!!

On The Way To VetMed This Morning

Katie was diagnosed with Feline Diabetes several weeks back. So every two weeks, Katie spends the day with Dr. Nicole Harris and the crew at VetMed... just until we can get her sugar levels down (they check her blood throughout the day.) She sits patiently in her crate on the ride there...

but I think she is sending me an "evil eye" look... SEE, I'm not imagining this!!
