Early Sunday Morning

We wake up every morning at 5am, even on weekends. When you have animals, they never let you sleep in, especially Bubba. His stomach is my alarm clock now. That was Katie's job but Bubba thought he'd fill in for her.

This Sunday morning, after the feeding of the animals, Brian wanted to head to Old Hickory Lake to run his remote control boat...that little boat can do up to 60 mph and faster!

There was still morning fog on the lake. It was just beautiful.

I started to walk around the lake and came up to this group of birds just enjoying the quiet...

and then it was time to go.

It was very peaceful. I was just missing my morning coffee!

A Thoreau Quote

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
-Henry David Thoreau

Afternoon Sun

I caught these two sunning themselves in the afternoon. The sun was coming in from the open windows. I had ALL the windows open this past Saturday. Here's Angel in the kitchen...

Here's Josie in the back bedroom... she was only sunning half of herself...

Boy, that was such a nice day.

I Spy... A Cat

Every Sunday I clean out the girls roost and Trigger's cage. I always start with the girls roost first. This one Sunday, with cleaning tools and bucket in hand, I notice something was just not right. The girls were out and about but something else was in their roost... and it wasn't a chicken! WILLIAM JAKE!!!

William Jake, Again

In a normal world, if you came up to something like this, you'd be worried.

You'd start to think to yourself... is the cat hurt?...

is he breathing? You find yourself still staring at the poor cat, hoping he's ok.

Then, a few seconds pass... there's movement...

and a big full teethed yawn. Dang, look at those fangs!

The kid just ain't right, I'm telling y'all.

Flea Market Weekend

Brian said that we needed to get out of the house on Sunday. We've been taking care of Joe and Katie for the past several weeks and didn't want to leave them much. So, we headed down to the fairgrounds. It was "Flea Market Weekend" there.

What catches my eyes... COLORS!! These beads were just perfect...

plus this row of small yellow stools.

Everyone needs a Chinese Rickshaw!

I came up to this booth, started to look around and finally notice this very cute live dog on the table. He was just standing in front of the fan cooling himself down... of course! Plus, he wasn't for sale.

Brian saw this, a vintage airplane.

I didn't get this water pitcher but I did see on a HGTV show that a couple used a collection of them as art pieces in their garden. I liked that idea.

The big "Flea Market Weekend" not to miss is the weekend in October where it's filled with lots of booths and tons of people shopping. Don't miss that one! It's October 22nd, 23rd & 24th this year.
