Refrigerator Art
I just recently got a wonderful piece of art from my dear friend and neighbor Tiff! I'm so excited about this piece because it's just incredible!
The panda painting incorporates American Pop Art and Realism... at least that's what I think a art critic would say... not that I'm a art critic, "I just play one on TV." JOKING!
I absolutely love Tiff's work. It's imaginative and very creative!! GREAT WORK TIFF!! I LOVE IT!!!

"The Princess and the Pea"
The Real Princess (The Princess and the Pea)
by Hans Christian Andersen
There was once a prince, and he wanted a princess, but then she must be a real Princess. He travelled right around the world to find one, but there was always something wrong. There were plenty of princesses, but whether they were real princesses he had great difficulty in discovering; there was always something which was not quite right about them. So at last he had come home again, and he was very sad because he wanted a real princess so badly.
One evening there was a terrible storm; it thundered and lightninged and the rain poured down in torrents; indeed it was a fearful night.
In the middle of the storm somebody knocked at the town gate, and the old King himself sent to open it.
It was a princess who stood outside, but she was in a terrible state from the rain and the storm. The water streamed out of her hair and her clothes; it ran in at the top of her shoes and out at the heel, but she said that she was a real princess.
'Well we shall soon see if that is true,' thought the old Queen, but she said nothing. She went into the bedroom, took all the bed clothes off and laid a pea on the bedstead: then she took twenty mattresses and piled them on top of the pea, and then twenty feather beds on top of the mattresses. This was where the princess was to sleep that night. In the morning they asked her how she slept.
'Oh terribly bad!' said the princess. 'I have hardly closed my eyes the whole night! Heaven knows what was in the bed. I seemed to be lying upon some hard thing, and my whole body is black and blue this morning. It is terrible!'
They saw at once that she must be a real princess when she had felt the pea through twenty mattresses and twenty feather beds. Nobody but a real princess could have such a delicate skin.
So the prince took her to be his wife, for now he was sure that he had found a real princess, and the pea was put into the Museum, where it may still be seen if no one has stolen it.
The End
P.S. That's my little princess Josie. She made herself comfortable on a pile of CLEAN TOWELS that just came out of the dryer.

New Seehafer Family Members
Well, it's official, Brian and I have gone mad!! No, we've gone to the worms, red worms to be more specific! Brian got a dozen yesterday!
We've been talking for months now to start a worm compost. One of my dearest friends Michele in Portland had a "Worm Compost Farm" in her shed. It's actually a great idea and easy to take care of. This book is wonderful and explains everything from housing, care, food and bio-workings of worms!
You buy them a home, drill holes for air flow...
bedding, we used mushroom compost mixed with coconut husk- rinse the coconut husk out with water a few times or you can also use newspaper. Feed them your veggie food scrapes...VOILA, instant "Worm Poop Farm!!" I mean "Worm Compost Farm!"
The compost is REALLY GOOD for the plants!!
We'll check in on them this weekend to see if they are adjusting to their new home. Stay tuned!!

A Cute Story About Friendship
“The Bunny and Bubba”
There once lived a bunny named Trigger. Trigger was very lonely. He decided to go outside and find a new friend.
Trigger hopped all over the backyard till he came upon some chickens. He stopped and asked the girls if they would like to be friends. “Oh no, bunny. We are chickens and we only stick with each other” said one of the girls. Trigger was sad but he decided to move on. “There’s got to be my new friend out there somewhere” said Trigger to himself.
Trigger hopped on. Soon he came across a big white dirty smelly dog. Trigger stopped and said “Hello, I’m Trigger. You want to be friends?” The big white dirty smelly dog replied “I’m Bubba. I would love to be friends.”
So for the rest of the day, they stuck together. They went from here to there...
and then from there to here.
Trigger and Bubba had such a wonderful time together that they quickly became true friends. "Bubba, I'm very happy now" said Trigger. Bubba replied, "Kid, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
The End.

Herbs, Herbs, Herbs!
You know the old saying about not planting anything before April 15th (because of possible freezing)...OK, I'M GUILTY!! I couldn't wait! Brian made me do it!! He said "you could plant SOME your herbs in your garden." That's all it took!!
It's really only my second year with growing herbs. I'm a beginner with these wonderfully tasting plants. I've gotten books to help me out. They've given me ideas about drying, oils, teas and of course cooking with fresh herbs.
This year we got some Bee Balm, Dill, Sage, Cilantro, Parsley and...
something I've never seen before, Boxwood Basil! The plant will grow up to 12 to 16 inches. The aroma of the basil is strong. It's one of my favorite smells... that and tomato plants.the Lavender and Catnip plants... (the cats are happy about the Catnip!)

Eggs
The girls eggs come in all different shapes and sizes.
Now that they are getting older, the eggs seem to be getting bigger. One of the girls is actually laying HUGE EGGS! LOOK!! That's got to hurt!
JD laid this weird odd long shape egg. She lays at least once a day.
Even JD's eggs are getting bigger.
I think those girls are some hard working chickens!
Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!

It was Easter at Cousin Hera's house... really it's her mom and dad's but all us dog owners know that they really run the place!
Hera and Uncle Bud (that's what Brian's family call him) love each other...

There's that smile I love!!
It's always a good time when the family gets together.

Saturday's Chicken Workshop
Brian and I headed out for Columbia Tennessee to see "The Chicken Whisperer" on Saturday morning!
Andy, aka "The Chicken Whisperer" was a great speaker and we learned a bunch about our feathery family members... Brian learned and already knew that I spoil them to much. I've got to, they are princesses, so they believe!
P.S. I want more chickens!!
